The Australian Tarmac Rally Championship fires back into action with the highly anticipated Mt Baw Baw Sprint, taking place on May 3–4, 2025. Set in Victoria’s high country, this iconic event marks Round 2 of the championship and features more than 231 kilometres of closed-road rallying across 17 competitive stages, including the legendary Porcupine Creek to Mt Baw Baw summit run.

Known for being the steepest tarmac stage in Australia, the Mt Baw Baw Sprint attracts a diverse mix of experienced crews and powerful machinery from across the country.

This year’s entry list reflects the depth of the field and the broad appeal of the event:

  • Nathan Reeves and Bec Sheldrick will be pushing the limits in a 2011 Subaru Impreza STi in the Modern Super Rally category.

  • Jason and Fiona Wright are back in their fierce 2011 Nissan R35, representing New South Wales. Queensland's Max Williams, alongside ACT co-driver Bruce Bush, will pilot a 2020 Toyota GR Yaris in the same class.

  • The hotly contested Modern AWD category features no fewer than six GR Yaris entries, including Damian O’Halloran & Brian Foster, and Greg & Rhonda Burrowes.

  • Victorian duo Carrie and Sean Priestly bring a 2014 Volkswagen Golf R to the fight, while Craig Haysman and Jason Page represent South Australia in a 2011 Subaru WRX.

  • The Early Modern AWD and 2WD fields include a mix of Evos and classics like the 1997 Nissan Skyline R33 GTST driven by David Blunden and Rob Sheppard.

  • In the Classic category, look out for beautifully prepared entries such as Thomas Dermody’s 1973 Ford RS 1600 and Robin Lowe’s 1971 Datsun 240z.

  • The Rally Sport class will see entries like Matthew Gibbens and Tim Jurd in a striking 2020 Lotus Exige, and Peter Gandolfi and Kristian Downing representing SA in a Skoda Octavia.

Spectators will enjoy breathtaking views and high-speed action from key vantage points like Resort Entry at South Face Road and Tanjil Bren. Road closures will be in effect between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM on both days.

With such a strong and varied field, the Mt Baw Baw Sprint is shaping up to be a highlight of the 2025 ATR calendar.
